Is there some water (to drink) around here?

The Imam had a lot of respect for his lady meaning that it would be no exaggeration if I say that not even once in the course of sixty years of marital life, the Imam would eat his meal before his lady had done. Never had he in the course of sixty years of marital life asked his wife to bring him a glass of water. He would always do it himself and in case he was not in a position to do so, he would say indirectly: “Is there some water (to drink) around here?” He would never ask anybody to fetch him a glass of water—not even we who were his daughters.
