It was the people who drove out the Shah

Perhaps it was the fifth or sixth day since our Leader’s arrival from Paris and I was with him in the Alawi School while groups of people came to visit him. I said to him that it was now five or six days since he was keeping in touch with the people and was meeting them and that it was time to discontinue the visits so that he could attend to his more critical duties. The Imam retorted: “Do you think it was mine and your communiqués that drove the Shah out of Iran! It was these people with their demonstrations and with their solidarity that drove out the evil ‘Taghuti’ regime.”
