Addressing a recent gathering, the reputed scholar said that by the grace of God the Almighty, people's hearts were attracted towards Imam and he became the "center of trust" and point of love and devotion for all public masses ranging from villages and cities.
Pointing to a historic referendum which was held following the victory of Islamic Revolution in 1979, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini said that “with Imam's trust, 98% of the people voted for the Islamic Republic and it had been very significant and important.”
He further said that the people saw practical role model for political Islam or Islamic government and the Islamic Republic in the form of Imam’s character and voted for him at the sensitive juncture of history
And by the way, the anti-revolutionaries, the outsiders and their backers have recognized it correctly and have entered through mockery to break this sanctity, he added.
Seyyed Hassan Khomeini stressed that Imam overthrew the Shah's regime and established the Islamic Republic system with the vote of 98% of the people. All political factions and groups with a range of inclinations had voted 98 percent under the leadership of the Imam, who said that the combination of Islamic Republic, nothing less or more.
The grandson of the late founder of the Islamic Republic said that cultural institutions' disregard or negligence for Imam is not understandable at all.
“Imam is the identity of all the revolution and the Islamic Republic, and because of this, even today, the most attacks are directed at Imam, and if something is to be done for the survival of the Islamic Republic and the revolution, then it should be done about the founder of the Islamic Republic.”
“If they ask me, what was the greatest work of Imam? Or should they say which was more important between the overthrow of the monarchy and the destruction of the tyrannical regime and the establishment of the Islamic Republic? I will say that the latter is far more important than the former. Demolition is a difficult task, but compared to construction, it is very easy.”
The Islamic Revolution of 1979 has a very great feature that it does not have any revolution; It is not a class-based or society-layers based revolution, he said.
That is, it did not cut the society from top to bottom; the supporters of the Islamic Republic in the first decade were the same as those in the second and third decades; Rich, non-rich, academic, seminary, Sunni, Shia, the same thing that imam used to say "all together"
Imam's scientific age and his philosophical and mystical discussions are much unknown, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini pointed out.
Political discussions about Imam have veiled his scientific work, power of jurisprudence, principles, philosophy and otherwise his works and words would have been more evident.
“But at the same imam, who is a philosopher, whose knowledge is steeped in principles and jurisprudence terms, addresses to public masses in a way that even a villager understands and does not speak dumb at all.”
