Lifting hands up for the purpose of prayers

Nasiri Mohammad Reza once quoted Haj Ahmad Agha, Imam Khomeini’s son, as saying:

“Once at night I was sleeping on roof top in holy city of Najaf. I suddenly heard a voice and then noticed that Imam had been busy in performing night prayers.”

Ahmad recalled that Imam had raised his hands towards heavens and was shedding tears before God, the Almighty.

It was Imam’s routine to stay awake all the night until morning in order to say prayers and recite supplications.

(It is worthy to mention that Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini used to live a small 45-meter home in Najaf)
